Alcoliche is an Italian term that functions primarily as an adjective meaning related to or containing alcohol. In everyday language it is used most often with a noun such as bevande to form bevande alcoliche, i.e., alcoholic beverages. The feminine plural form alcoliche agrees with feminine nouns like bevande or sostanze. In scientific contexts, the chemical class of compounds is usually referred to as alcoli in Italian, while alcolico can describe substances possessing alcoholic properties or containing alcohol.

Bevande alcoliche encompass a wide range of drinks, including beer, wine, hard liquors, and liqueurs. They vary in ethanol content, typically from about 4–6% for many beers, 12–15% for table wines, to 40% or more for distilled spirits. Ethanol, the active component, acts as a central nervous system depressant and, with excessive or long-term use, can lead to health problems such as liver disease, certain cancers, cardiovascular issues, and dependence.
