Agilei

Agilei is a term for a hybrid software development approach that blends agile methods with artificial intelligence–enabled tooling to aid planning, forecasting, and automation. It aims for rapid feedback, modular design, and value-driven delivery.

The concept arose in the late 2010s among teams seeking data-driven augmentation of decision making. It is not tied to a single standard, but describes a family of practices that integrates AI insights with Agile principles.

Methodology centers on short iterations, typically one to four weeks, cross-functional teams, and continuous integration. Requirements are treated as hypotheses to be tested. AI may assist with backlog prioritization, risk assessment, and release forecasting, while human judgment remains essential.

Typical roles include the Product Owner, Scrum Master, and an AI Facilitator or data analyst responsible for AI outputs and data quality.

Practices often feature Kanban or Scrum, dashboards, automated tests, and AI-powered analytics that monitor value delivery and quality.

Critics warn about overreliance on AI, data quality, bias, and governance; supporters argue it can improve responsiveness and predictability when applied with clear standards.
