AcuraWatch

AcuraWatch is a suite of driver-assistance and safety technologies offered by Acura, the luxury brand of Honda. Introduced to provide a coordinated set of features designed to help prevent collisions and assist drivers in maintaining control, AcuraWatch appears on many Acura models as either standard or optional equipment depending on the model year and trim level.

The AcuraWatch suite commonly includes Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow, Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), and Lane Departure Warning (LDW). In some generations, Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) is bundled with LKAS to help prevent unintentional lane departure by applying steering input or braking when necessary. Some updates and later packages also include features such as Traffic Jam Assist to aid driving in congested conditions. Availability of specific components varies by model and year.

Operation relies on a network of sensors, including cameras and radar, to monitor traffic, lane markings, and vehicle position. When a potential collision or deviation is detected, the system issues warnings to the driver and can autonomously intervene by braking, adjusting speed, or steering within set limits. These interventions are designed to complement but not replace attentive driving.

Across Acura models such as the MDX, RDX, and TLX, AcuraWatch is marketed as part of a broader safety strategy intended to reduce the likelihood of accidents and to assist drivers in maintaining safe operation. It is considered a driver-assistance system, with performance and features evolving over model years and subject to limitations under certain weather or road conditions.
