1d10 refers to rolling one ten-sided die. In tabletop role-playing games and probability exercises, dice are denoted with a "d" followed by the number of sides: XdY. Thus 1d10 means a single die with ten faces. A standard d10 is a pentagonal trapezohedron; it has ten faces, each labeled with a number from 0 to 9 (or 1 to 10 in some sets). In many games the 0 face is interpreted as 10. The die is designed to be fair, giving each face a 1/10 chance of landing face up, assuming proper manufacture and fair rolling.
In gameplay, 1d10 is commonly used for damage, random determination, or skill checks, depending on the system.
Manufacturers produce d10s in various styles, including translucent, opaque, or marbled plastics, with engraved numerals or
