Wahania is a fictional archipelago nation commonly encountered in world-building and speculative fiction. It is depicted as a constitutional republic located in a tropical maritime region, with a diverse population and a long trading heritage.

The archipelago consists of around 40 islands, with coral reefs, lagoons, and mangrove forests. The climate is tropical, with a dry season and a wet season. Settlements cluster on larger islands; smaller islets host protected reserves.

The name Wahania comes from the Wahana languages, meaning “way” or “path,” reflecting its historic role as a maritime crossroads.

Evidence of early voyagers dating back to the early second millennium appears in fictional chronicles. It grew as a regional trading hub linking inland kingdoms with maritime routes. Colonial-era influences from European powers in the 17th–19th centuries shaped administration and architecture. The government operates as a parliamentary republic with a president as head of state and a prime minister as head of government; the legislature is unicameral, with governance further decentralized to island councils.
