A videodesigner is a professional who plans, designs, and produces moving image content for screen-based media. They combine graphic design, animation, typography, and storytelling to create visual sequences for broadcast, online video, cinema, events, and installations. The role often encompasses both creative conception and technical realization, from concept development and storyboarding to asset creation and final rendering.

Common duties include developing concepts and storyboards, creating motion graphics and typography, animating 2D or 3D elements, color grading and compositing, audio synchronization, and exporting deliverables in required formats. They collaborate with producers, directors, editors, sound designers, and other specialists to ensure coherence with brand and narrative goals.

Videodesigners use software such as Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Photoshop; Apple Motion or Final Cut Pro; 3D packages like Cinema 4D or Blender; and color grading tools in DaVinci Resolve. They apply techniques such as kinetic typography, motion tracking, compositing, and visual effects to produce polished sequences.

Work settings vary from advertising agencies and broadcast networks to post-production houses, film studios, and freelance studios. Projects may include opening titles, lower-thirds, program graphics, promotional spots, explainer videos, and event visuals.

Typical education includes studies in graphic design, animation, film or multimedia; a strong portfolio demonstrating motion design, storytelling, and technical proficiency is often essential. The role overlaps with motion designers and video editors, but videodesigners focus on the integration of design and motion across duration and platform.
