VectorSIMD refers to data-level parallelism in which operations are performed on wide vectors of data in a single instruction. In a vectorSIMD unit, a processor register contains multiple lanes, and an operation such as addition, multiplication, or comparison is applied element-wise across all lanes in parallel. The number of lanes, or vector width, is fixed by the architecture and supported data types typically include integers and floating-point numbers. Masking may be available to enable or disable individual lanes within a given operation.
