Vastaalkaville is a town and municipality in the Vastaal region of Veridia. It lies on the Vastaal River, about 20 kilometers north of the regional capital. The town covers roughly 8 square kilometers and has a population of about 11,500 as of 2023.

Founded in the late 19th century as a mining settlement, Vastaalkaville expanded with the arrival of the railway in the early 20th century. Mining and light industry drove growth through the mid-20th century, but deindustrialization in the 1980s led to factory closures and population decline. In the following decades it diversified into services and logistics.

The local economy is centered on services, distribution, and small manufacturing. Agriculture is concentrated in surrounding rural areas. The municipality promotes small-business development through incentives and a business park on the outskirts.

Vastaalkaville is governed by an elected municipal council and a mayor. It is part of the Vastaal regional district, which provides regional services such as schooling oversight and transportation planning.

The town sits in a temperate climate with mild winters. It is connected by a regional rail line and a network of provincial roads, and a local bus system links neighborhoods and nearby towns.

A 19th-century brick parish church anchors the town center, complemented by a riverside promenade and a historic town hall. The annual Vastaal Week festival highlights local crafts, music, and food.

The town hosts one secondary school, a vocational college, and a public library. Emergency services are provided by a combined municipal police and fire station.
