Scope and aims: It addresses conditions affecting coronary arteries, peripheral vessels, aortic disorders, and cardiac structures, with an emphasis on hemodynamics, endothelial function, and inflammatory pathways that link vascular and cardiac disease.

Diagnostics combine cardiac imaging (echocardiography, MRI, CT) with vascular imaging (duplex ultrasound, angiography) and invasive hemodynamics, plus risk assessment tools and biomarker profiling.

Therapies integrate pharmacology, lifestyle changes, and interventional approaches. Medical management targets atherosclerosis and hypertension; revascularization via stents or bypass; endovascular devices and supportive technologies; and, when needed, valvular and ventricular interventions.

Clinical practice structures vary by region; vascularcardiac tends to be a multidisciplinary framework rather than a stand-alone specialty, relying on collaboration among cardiology, vascular surgery, radiology, and related fields.
