valtitum

Valtium is a fictional chemical element described in speculative materials science and science fiction worldbuilding. Often denoted with the symbol Vt, valtitum is placed among the heavier transition metals in hypothetical periodic tables. It is portrayed as a dense, corrosion-resistant metal with exceptionally high electrical conductivity and unusual quantum properties that some conjecture could enable room-temperature superconductivity and anisotropic magnetic behavior.

In fictional depictions, valtitum does not occur in nature. Synthesis is described as requiring advanced laboratory facilities and extreme energy input, sometimes involving controlled plasma fusion or simulations of stellar fusion environments. Purification is assumed to be challenging due to complex alloying tendencies and short-lived isotopes in theory.

Because of its purported properties, valtitum is proposed for a range of high-end applications in these works.
