vaiheerotuksia
Vaiheerotuksia is Finnish term used to describe phase separations, the process by which a homogeneous mixture becomes nonuniform and divides into distinct phases with different compositions or properties. In physics, chemistry and materials science, vaiheerotuksia refer to demixing phenomena that occur when thermodynamic conditions push the system out of the single-phase region of a phase diagram.
Two primary mechanisms underpin vaiheerotuksia: spinodal decomposition and nucleation-and-growth. Spinodal decomposition happens when the homogeneous state
Vaiheerotuksia occur in a range of systems, including polymer blends, metal alloys, emulsions, and colloidal suspensions.
Characterization methods include optical and electron microscopy, small-angle scattering (SAXS or SANS), and calorimetric or rheological
