typisiin

Typisiin is a contemporary electronic music duo originating from Helsinki, Finland. The project was formed in 2021 by vocalist and producer Mira Lehtinen and DJ and sound engineer Jukka Rautio. Both members have backgrounds in experimental sound design and have collaborated on several underground Scandinavian music festivals before officially launching Typisiin.

The duo’s style blends elements of techno, ambient, and melodic house, frequently incorporating layered synth loops with vocal samples that carry a distinctive Nordic aesthetic. Their music is often described as atmospherically expansive, with a focus on rhythmic progression and subtle harmonic shifts.

Typisiin’s debut EP, “Lattio,” was released in 2022 through the independent label Rave Roots and received positive reviews for its unique production techniques and emotive songwriting. The follow‑up single “Silkinen” entered the Finnish Dance Chart ranking at number 18 in early 2023.

The group has performed at major European events such as Movement and Sonar, and they were featured in the 2023 edition of the Finnish festival Virta Beat. Their live sets are noted for immersive visuals and the strategic use of lighting to complement the sonic textures.

The duo cites influences ranging from early 1990s techno pioneers to contemporary ambient artists, and they maintain an active presence on social media where they share behind‑the‑scenes content and remix projects. Typisiin continues to develop their discography, with an upcoming full album planned for release in late 2024.
