Common dimensions include budget level (luxury, mid-range, budget or backpacking), pace (short getaways, multi-stop itineraries, slow travel), accommodation type (hotels, hostels, vacation rentals, homestays), transport modes (air, rail, car, cruise, bicycles), and activity focus (cultural heritage, nature, food and drink, adventure). Social context (solo, couple, family, group) and planning style (fully planned, semi-planned, or spontaneous) also shape travelstyle. Environmental and ethical considerations, such as sustainability and responsible tourism, have become integral parts for many travelers.
