Researchers might approximate tissuesmost by combining factors such as cellular density, junctional adhesion, ECM continuity, and nutrient signaling efficiency. Conceptual models often use simulations, agent-based approaches, or finite element analysis to explore how variations in these factors affect overall tissue performance.

Applications are primarily theoretical and pedagogical, informing discussions in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine about how to design scaffolds, mechanical environments, and growth factor cues to promote highly integrated tissue formation.
