A tietokonetyyppi, or computer type, refers to the classification of computers based on their size, performance, and intended use. These categories help differentiate between the vast array of computing devices available.

At the highest end are supercomputers, designed for extremely complex calculations and scientific research. They represent the pinnacle of processing power. Mainframes are another category of powerful computers, typically used by large organizations for critical applications like transaction processing and enterprise resource planning.
