A thobe, also spelled thawb or thoub, is a long robe worn by men in the Arab world. It is typically ankle- or floor-length with long sleeves and a simple, straight silhouette. The garment provides loose coverage and ventilation in hot climates. The thobe is worn in daily life and for ceremonial occasions.

The word thobe comes from the Arabic thawb meaning clothing. In different regions it has different names: thawb (Saudi Arabia and most Gulf countries), dishdasha (Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, and Oman), kandura (United Arab Emirates and parts of Oman).

Materials include cotton, linen, and synthetic blends. White is common in hot regions for its reflectivity and cool appearance; darker colors are worn in cooler seasons or for formal events. Styles vary by country and designer, with differences in collar shape, button arrangement, sleeve cuffs, pocket placement, and occasional embroidery. Some versions are tailored more closely to the body, while others remain very loose.

Traditionally worn with a headdress such as the ghutra or keffiyeh, held in place by an agal. The thobe is often paired with a bisht, a cloak worn on special occasions. It is worn by men across many Arab countries and in some parts of North Africa.

Care is simple: the garment is typically one solid piece, easy to wash and iron. It is not a religious garment, but it holds cultural significance and is commonly seen in daily life, business settings, and formal events.
