Tabletsdisplay refers to the display system used in tablet computers. It comprises the display panel, touch sensor, digitizer, cover glass, backlight or driver electronics, and any stylus integration. Tablet displays are designed to deliver sharp images, accurate color, and responsive touch input while prioritizing power efficiency to extend battery life.

Most tablets use LCD panels with LED backlighting, often employing IPS or similar technologies to provide wide viewing angles and consistent color. In premium devices, organic light-emitting diode (OLED) or AMOLED panels are used to achieve higher contrast and deeper blacks, albeit with different power behavior. Some tablets employ a low-temperature polycrystalline silicon (LTPS) or LTPO backplane to enable variable refresh rates, balancing smooth motion with power savings.

Performance characteristics typically include high pixel density, commonly 260–400+ pixels per inch, with resolutions ranging from around 2K to over 4K on larger models. Color accuracy and gamut coverage (such as sRGB and DCI-P3) are important for photo and video workloads. Many tablets support high dynamic range (HDR) formats and brightness levels sufficient for outdoor use, often exceeding 500 nits and up to 1000 nits in peak brightness on flagship devices. Response times and refresh rates vary, with standard 60 Hz panels and options for 90–120 Hz.

Touch input is integrated with the display through capacitive digitizers, and many tablets pair the display with a stylus for precision input. Durability features may include scratch-resistant glass, oleophobic coatings, and anti-reflective treatments. As an evolving technology, tablet displays continue to improve in resolution, color, speed, and energy efficiency to support multimedia, productivity, and drawing workflows.
