taakdoelen

Taakdoelen is a term used in Dutch organizations to describe the concrete results expected from a specific task or activity. They specify what must be achieved, by whom, and by when, including the quality criteria and deliverables. They differ from general goals or ambitions by focusing on a defined action and its measurable outcome.

Formulation: Taakdoelen should be specific and observable, often following the SMART criteria: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound. They state the desired output (for example: deliver a functional prototype of module X by 15 June that meets criteria A, B and C, and passes acceptance test with at least 90% pass rate). They should be agreed between an employee and supervisor as part of planning or appraisal, and linked to broader job objectives.

Scope: They can apply at individual, team, or project level. They function as a planning and evaluation tool: they guide work, define deliverables, determine resources, and provide a basis for monitoring progress and evaluating results.

Usage and benefits: Clear taakdoelen improve focus, accountability, and transparency; they facilitate feedback and performance discussions; they help prioritize tasks and allocate resources; they can be used to link daily work to strategic goals.
