Submandibularis ból is a condition characterized by pain and swelling in the submandibular region, located under the jawline. This area is comprised of the submandibular gland, a salivary gland responsible for secreting saliva, as well as surrounding muscles and tissues.

The submandibular gland is often affected by blockages in its ducts, which can cause saliva to accumulate and lead to inflammation and pain. This condition is commonly referred to as submandibular gland sialadenitis or submandibular gland inflammation. Bacteria, viral infections, or trauma can cause these blockages, leading to submandibularis ból.

Symptoms of submandibularis ból include swelling and pain in the submandibular region, fever, and difficulty opening the mouth or swallowing. In some cases, patients may experience a foul-tasting or bitter saliva, or purulent discharge from the gland.

Prevention of submandibularis ból can be achieved by maintaining good oral hygiene, sucking on sugar-free ice cubes or lemon wedges to stimulate saliva flow, and managing conditions such as Sjögren's syndrome and diabetes, which can increase the risk of submandibular gland inflammation.
