Standardtvätt refers to a common laundry process typically performed in households or commercial laundries. It involves the cleaning of textiles using water, detergent, and mechanical action, usually within a washing machine. The goal of standardtvätt is to remove dirt, stains, and odors from fabrics, making them fresh and hygienic.

The process generally begins with sorting laundry based on color, fabric type, and soil level. Whites are usually washed separately from colors to prevent bleeding.
