Spordihall is a multi-purpose indoor sports facility located in Tallinn, Estonia. It serves as a venue for basketball, volleyball, handball, badminton, gymnastics, and fitness activities, and it also hosts school and local league competitions as well as community events.

History and development

Construction of Spordihall began in 1987 and the facility opened in 1991 as part of a municipal effort to expand indoor sports infrastructure. A major renovation in 2010–2011 updated seating, accessibility, and energy systems, with a smaller modernization completed in 2018 to improve spectator services and behind-the-scenes operations.

Facilities

The complex comprises a main arena with a movable floor that can be configured for different sports, seating for about 2,400 spectators, and two adjacent training courts. Support facilities include a gym and fitness studio, locker rooms, a medical room, administrative offices, and a café. The hall adheres to international standards for indoor arenas and emphasizes accessibility and safety.

Usage

Spordihall is operated by the City Sports Center in partnership with local sports clubs and associations. It hosts national championships, regional qualifiers, youth tournaments, and school PE programs, as well as regular amateur leagues and community activities. The venue is designed to accommodate seasonal sports cycles and varying crowd sizes.

Located centrally in Tallinn, Spordihall is served by multiple public transport options, including tram and bus lines, with on-site parking facilities for spectators and staff. The facility also serves as a hub for administrative and development activities related to local sports.
