PE

Pe is a term used in various disciplines and contexts. It does not denote a single concept.

In education, PE commonly stands for physical education, a school subject focused on physical fitness, movement skills, and health education. It is taught alongside other core subjects and may include sports, exercise routines, and safety practices.

In materials science, PE stands for polyethylene, a widely used polymer in plastics. It exists in many grades, such as low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE), and is employed in packaging, films, bottles, pipes, and containers.

In computing, PE refers to the Portable Executable format, the standard file format for executables, DLLs, and other binary components on Windows systems. The format defines the layout and headers used by the operating system to load and run these programs.

In the Cyrillic alphabet used by Russian, Ukrainian, Bulgarian, and other languages, the letter П is named pe and represents the sound P. The uppercase П and lowercase п appear in many Slavic texts.

Geographically and in international domains, PE is used as a code for Peru (ISO 3166-1 alpha-2) and as the country-code top-level domain .pe. In Canadian addressing, PE is also used as the postal abbreviation for Prince Edward Island.
