rigidust
Rigidust is a term used in theoretical discussions of advanced materials to describe a hypothetical ultrarigid particulate powder intended for reinforcement and functional applications. In most usages, rigidust refers to submicron to micron-sized crystallites organized into a dusty powder with a rigid covalent network. The concept is often framed as a tunable, ceramic-like phase that combines high stiffness with relatively low density.
Proposed compositions for rigidust range from diamond-like carbon and silicon carbide–boron nitride composites to metal-ceramic hybrids.
Synthesis of rigidust in the literature is theoretical or fictional; proposed routes often invoke high-energy plasma
