Revegetarea, or revegetation, is the process of establishing or reestablishing vegetation on bare, disturbed, or degraded land to restore ecological function, reduce erosion, and create habitat. It encompasses activities aimed at reintroducing plant communities that are compatible with local climate and soils, and it is used in ecological restoration, mine reclamation, road maintenance, and land management to enhance resilience and sustainability.

Approaches include natural regeneration, where vegetation regrows without intensive human intervention, and assisted restoration, which relies on seeding, planting, or transplanting juvenile plants. Site preparation may involve weed control, soil loosening, mulch, or amendments to improve structure and fertility. Techniques range from direct seeding and containerized planting to establishing nursery-grown saplings and using erosion-control measures like mulch, silt fences, or terracing.
