Rakkoja is the plural form of the Finnish noun rakko, meaning blister. In Finnish usage, rakkoja refers to multiple blister lesions on the skin and is commonly used in medical and everyday contexts.

A blister is a small pocket of fluid that forms between layers of the skin in response to friction, heat, chemical exposure, or other injury. The fluid helps protect the damaged tissue as it heals. Most blisters occur on the feet or hands but can appear anywhere on the body.

Common causes include ill-fitting or non-supportive footwear, repetitive rubbing or pressure, increased physical activity, heat burns, sunburn, frostbite, and chemical irritation. Blisters may be filled with clear fluid, blood, or may become empty if the skin breaks.
