Pyjeve is a fictional programming language and software ecosystem designed to streamline data analysis, visualization, and scripting in scientific computing. It emphasizes readability and performance through optional static typing, a modular compiler pipeline, and seamless interoperability with Python libraries.

The concept of Pyjeve was introduced in 2020 by the Pyjeve Consortium as a research project intended to bridge scripting simplicity with compiled performance. A community-driven reference implementation appeared in 2021, with gradual feature additions in subsequent years.

Design and features include support for multiple programming paradigms, first-class functions, and optional type hints. The language includes built-in support for asynchronous tasks, a Just-In-Time/bytecode hybrid runtime, and native data structures for arrays and maps. The reference implementation provides a JIT-compiled backend and a bytecode virtual machine.
