Punchstamp is a term used to describe a stamping tool or station that performs punching and stamping in a single operation. In its broad sense, a punchstamp can refer to a tool that combines a punch for removing material with a die face that impressions a design, allowing both perforation and decoration to be created on the same workpiece. The design is often implemented as a male punch aligned with a female die, so that when force is applied, a hole is formed and an accompanying stamp impression is produced around or adjacent to the opening.

The concept is applied in various industries, including leathercraft, metal fabrication, plastics, and card or paper stock production. In leather and metal work, punchstamps are used to add decorative motifs, serial numbers, logos, or perforation patterns while simultaneously creating functional openings. In sheet materials, they can enable rapid production of perforated or labeled parts with a consistent appearance.

Design and operation commonly involve benchtop, hand-held, or automated press configurations. Tools may be single-ended or part of a progressive-die setup in a stamping line. Material compatibility depends on hardness, thickness, and ductility; common substrates include mild steel, leather, and certain plastics. Tooling maintenance focuses on keeping the punch edge sharp and the stamp face clean to ensure consistent impressions and clean perforations.
