Produktstater (literally "product states") is a term used in Scandinavian languages to denote the various conditions, configurations, or statuses that a product can have during its lifecycle. The concept is applied across several domains to support traceability, planning, and analysis.

In manufacturing and logistics, produktstater describe the lifecycle stages of a product—from design and procurement through production, quality control, packaging, storage, shipment, and post-sale handling. Recording the current produktstater enables real-time visibility, inventory control, and workflow routing in ERP and MES systems. Typical states include raw material, in production, quality check, finished goods, ready for shipment, and returned goods.

In software engineering and formal methods, the term can refer to the state space of a product when it is composed of multiple components. A product state is the combination of the states of its parts, and operations transition the system from one product state to another. This usage supports verification, testing, and model checking of complex systems or configurable products.

Within data governance and data product management, produktstater may denote the current status of a data product, such as ingest, processing, validated, published, or deprecated.
