Plateaggregat is a German term used in engineering to describe a modular unit composed of multiple flat plates that form a compact assembly for separating, transferring, or conditioning fluids. The concept denotes a stack of plates and spacers arranged to create flow channels, yielding a unit that can function as a heat exchanger, a filtration module, or, in some contexts, a condenser or dryer. The exact configuration varies with the intended application and process requirements.

Common variants include plate heat exchangers, where corrugated plates create alternating channels for two fluids. Plates may be gasketed or welded and are typically made from stainless steel or other corrosion-resistant materials. Plate filtration modules use stacked filter plates to separate solids from liquids and are often integrated into larger plate-frame filter systems. In some technical contexts a plate condenser or plate-dryer setup may also be described as a plateaggregat.

Construction and operation involve clamping and sealing the plates, with spacing and gasket material determining pressure rating and flow distribution. Cleaning is usually performed by disassembly for manual cleaning or by in-place cleaning (CIP) in systems designed for that purpose. Maintenance focuses on ensuring gasket integrity (where applicable) and preventing fouling of plate surfaces.
