A pilótafülke, often referred to as the cockpit in English, is the compartment within an aircraft, spacecraft, or submarine from which the pilot or crew controls the vehicle. In aircraft, it is typically located at the front of the fuselage. The design and equipment of a pilótafülke have evolved significantly over time, from early open cockpits with basic instruments to the highly complex and digitized environments found in modern airliners and fighter jets.

The primary function of the pilótafülke is to provide the crew with the necessary instruments, controls, and displays to safely operate the vehicle. This includes flight instruments that indicate altitude, airspeed, heading, and attitude, as well as engine controls, navigation systems, and communication equipment. In more complex aircraft, the pilótafülke may also house systems for managing onboard systems, such as hydraulics, electrical power, and environmental control.

Modern pilótafülkék are characterized by advanced avionics, often featuring glass cockpits with multi-function displays (MFDs) that present information in a clear and integrated manner. These displays can show flight data, navigation charts, weather radar, and system status. The introduction of fly-by-wire technology has also changed the control interface, replacing mechanical linkages with electronic signals. The layout and ergonomics of the pilótafülke are crucial for pilot efficiency and to reduce workload, especially during critical phases of flight.
