Parfymerians are a fictional or speculative group of artisans dedicated to the design, production, and study of fragrances. The name combines the root parfum with a conventional -erian suffix, a pattern frequently used in fantasy and worldbuilding to denote a people or profession. In many settings, parfymerians are portrayed as custodians of scent culture and perfumery knowledge.

Historically within imagined worlds, parfymerians organize into guilds, houses, or academies that oversee training, recipe preservation, and trade in aromatic materials. They commonly source botanicals and essences through established networks with spice routes, coastal settlements, and inland orchards. Their activities span from raw material gathering and distillation to the final blending of perfumes and scented objects for textiles, spaces, and personal use.

Craft and technique form a core of parfymerian practice. Apprentices learn distillation, solvent extraction, enfleurage, and expression, as well as aging and storage in scent vaults. Fragrance creation is structured around top, middle, and base notes, with rigorous testing for stability, safety, and allergen considerations.
