paineyksikkönä
Paineyksikkönä is the Finnish term for a unit of pressure and is used in scientific, industrial and everyday contexts to quantify the intensity of force exerted per unit area. In Finnish-language texts it is often abbreviated as "Pa" or expressed as "paskal". The pascal (Pa) is the standard SI unit, defined as one newton of force applied over one square metre of area. One pascal is numerically equal to one joule per cubic metre or one newton per square metre. Historically, the term "paineyksikkönä" has been used in Finnish engineering literature since the early 20th century to denote pressure values in domestic and commercial applications, ranging from gauge pressures in boilers and pipelines to atmospheric pressure measurements in meteorology.
The unit links closely with other customary Finnish pressure expressions such as millimetre water column (mmH₂O)
