The choice depends on order characteristics, warehouse layout, and throughput targets. Technologies such as handheld scanners, voice-directed picking, pick-to-light, and RFID guidance are used to improve accuracy and speed. Automation options include automated storage and retrieval systems and robotic pickers in some facilities.
