oppimisjaksoja
Oppimisjaksoja refer to defined periods within a learning process during which learners engage in planned activities designed to achieve predetermined learning outcomes. They are used in various educational and training contexts, including schools, universities, vocational education, and corporate training. Each oppimisjaksoja has a duration (for example several weeks), a set of learning objectives, scheduled activities (lectures, hands-on practice, assignments, projects, assessments), and a method for evaluation. They may be stand-alone units or part of a larger opintojakso or curriculum. In higher education in Finland, oppimisjaksoja are often aligned with credit systems (opintopisteet/ECTS). They can be structured around different modalities, such as face-to-face, online, or blended learning, and can include work-based learning or internships.
Design and planning typically involve specifying competencies to be demonstrated, a timetable, required resources, and assessment
By offering clear milestones and assessments, oppimisjaksoja aim to support continuous learning, timely progression, and recognition
