Onesnaevanja is a term used in Slovenian to refer to pollution or contamination of the environment. It describes the introduction of substances or energy into air, water, soil, or ecosystems that have adverse effects on health or ecological processes.

Pollution arises from both natural processes and human activity, though most modern pollution results from anthropogenic sources such as industry, transport, agriculture, energy production, and waste management.

Pollutants include chemicals (metals, pesticides, solvents), particulate matter, nutrients causing eutrophication, plastics, as well as noise and light. They can enter ecosystems through emissions, discharges, runoff, or leakage from products and infrastructure.
