A nätverksskrivare, or network printer, is a printer that can be accessed by multiple users over a network. This is typically achieved by connecting the printer to a network router or switch, either via a wired Ethernet connection or wirelessly via Wi-Fi. Once connected, computers on the same network can send print jobs to the nätverksskrivare.

Network printers offer several advantages. They centralize printing resources, meaning users don't need a printer directly attached to their individual computer. This can save costs on individual devices and consumables like ink or toner. It also simplifies management, as IT administrators can install and configure drivers and manage print queues from a central point.

There are different types of network printers. Some are dedicated network devices with their own IP address, managed directly by the network. Others might be standard USB printers connected to a computer that then shares the printer over the network. Modern network printers often support advanced features like secure printing, where a user must authenticate at the printer to release their job, and duplex (two-sided) printing. They are commonly found in office environments, schools, and other shared workspaces.
