A nopeudensäätimen, or speed governor, is a mechanical or electronic device designed to regulate the speed of an engine by controlling the fuel supply or ignition timing. The primary function of a speed governor is to ensure stable performance by preventing excessive speed, which could lead to engine damage or failure.
