In Estonia, the Mõõtepunktide system is managed by the Estonian Land Registry and the Estonian Institute of Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre. The network incorporates points established since the late 19th century, when the first national geodetic survey was undertaken. Modernisation efforts in the 1990s introduced electronic leveling equipment and satellite‑based techniques, allowing revisions of point coordinates with millimetre precision.
