The term combines the prefix for “one” with processors, and in English-language sources the concept is usually referred to as a single-processor or uniprocessor system. Its usage varies, and the term is not as common in English technical literature.

A moniprosessori system is characterized by a lone CPU that fetches and executes instructions, with all computation and control flowing through one processing unit. Performance scaling relies on clock speed, memory bandwidth, and software efficiency rather than parallel hardware.
