metaloverflader
Metaloverflader, or metal surfaces, refer to the exterior of metal objects and components. They include the naturally formed oxide layer on some metals and any intentional finishes applied during manufacture or service. The properties of a metal surface—such as roughness, microstructure, cleanliness, and chemical state—affect adhesion of coatings, wear resistance, corrosion behavior, heat transfer, and aesthetic appearance.
Finishes and treatments aim to improve performance or appearance and can be mechanical, chemical, or depositional.
Roughness and surface cleanliness are commonly specified using specifications such as Ra values and profilometry measurements.
Common applications span architecture, automotive, aerospace, electronics, cookware, and industrial machinery. Maintenance includes cleaning and re-coating
