Membershipsor is a term used in hypothetical discussions of membership management systems to describe a component or platform feature that handles access control and status through flexible eligibility rules, including disjunctive logic (OR) between criteria. It is not a specific product but a concept used to illustrate how membership-based permissions could be modeled.

Core concept: manage member records, define multiple membership tiers, and apply OR-based rules to determine eligibility for benefits, content, or services. It supports overlapping memberships, where a user can hold more than one tier or pass, and where benefits can be granted if any of several conditions are met.

Rule engine: evaluates eligibility rules, stores rule definitions, supports nesting, precedence, and auditing. Data model includes member id, profile attributes, enrollment dates, tiers, entitlements, and usage logs. Access control is implemented via permissions linked to memberships or combined rules.

Applications: membership-based organizations, libraries, clubs, streaming services with optional add-ons, coworking spaces, or developer platforms offering feature flags tied to membership status. Benefits can be time-limited, recurring, or contingent on payment status.
