Makuupaikkavaunu is a Finnish term that refers to a motorized or towable vehicle designed to provide sleeping accommodation on the road. The term literally means “sleeping place vehicle”. In English the concept is typically called a camper van or a small recreational vehicle (RV). The vehicle can be either a van that has been converted internally to include a bed, a small kitchenette and storage, or a lightweight trailer that is towed behind a car and provides a cot and basic amenities.
