Leisured is an adjective meaning characterized by or accustomed to leisure; enjoying leisure rather than work. It can describe people, activities, spaces, or lifestyles that are oriented toward free time and nonwork pursuits. The form derives from leisure plus the regular past participle suffix -ed, and has been in use in English since the early modern period.

In sociological usage, the term often appears in reference to the “leisured class”—a social stratum with sufficient time and resources to engage in activities beyond productive labor. The concept has been discussed by scholars examining social stratification, cultural capital, and status display, as well as by writers who critique privilege and inequality. The term can carry pejorative tones when used to imply idle or ostentatious behavior, but it can also be neutral or descriptive when referring to lifestyle or institutional design (for example, leisured suburbs or leisured activities).

Leisure itself is the broader context: time not spent on obligatory work, and the subject of many studies in sociology, anthropology, and economics. Leisured activity often includes arts, travel, sports, and other pursuits pursued for enjoyment rather than necessity.
