Lanserere is a constructed language (conlang) created to illustrate linguistic typology and to support world-building in speculative fiction, games, and educational demonstrations. It has a documented grammar and lexicon but no native-speaking community; resources are primarily informational, aimed at learners, writers, and language hobbyists.

Phonology and orthography: Lanserere features about 21 consonants and five vowels, written with a Latin-based alphabet augmented by diacritics to indicate vowel quality and stress. Syllable structure favors CV and CVC patterns, with limited consonant clusters in loanwords. Stress generally falls on the penultimate syllable, though some words allow lexical variation. Phonotactic rules are designed to be learnable while permitting expressive phonetic nuance.

Morphology and syntax: The language is designed as predominantly analytic but with selective agglutinative features. The typical sentence order is subject–verb–object (SVO). Noun phrases show plurality via a suffix (for example, -ri marks plurality) and use case markers (such as -n for direct object). Verbs mark aspect and mood through affixes, while tense is context-dependent rather than morphologically obligatory. Pronouns inflect for person and number, and demonstratives can accompany noun phrases to indicate reference.

History and usage: Lanserere was conceived in the early 2010s by a community of conlang enthusiasts as a tool for exploring typology and for crafting fictional worlds. It circulates mainly in online forums, dictionaries, and short literary texts used in role-playing settings and fiction. Because it is a designed system, there are no native speakers, but a small body of documentation, sample texts, and learner resources exist and are periodically expanded by contributors.
