A kiteboard is a board designed for kiteboarding, a watersport that combines aspects of wakeboarding, snowboarding, windsurfing, surfing, paragliding, skateboarding and gymnastics into one extreme sport. The kiteboarder uses the power of a large controllable kite to propel themselves across the water on a board. Kiteboards are typically twin-tip, meaning they are symmetrical and can be ridden in either direction without needing to turn around. This allows for freestyle maneuvers and continuous riding. They are generally shorter and wider than wakeboards or surfboards.
