Kallonmurtuma refers to a fracture of the calcaneus, the large bone located at the heel of the foot. This type of fracture is typically caused by high-energy trauma, such as a fall from a significant height or a motor vehicle accident where the heel strikes a hard surface. Less commonly, it can result from a direct blow to the heel.

The symptoms of a calcaneal fracture include immediate and severe heel pain, swelling, bruising, and an inability to bear weight on the affected foot. Deformity of the heel may also be present.
