Inquiry-based learning (IBL) is an educational approach in which students learn by asking questions, investigating phenomena, and constructing new understandings based on evidence. In IBL, learners take active roles in identifying problems, planning procedures, collecting data, analyzing results, and communicating conclusions, with the teacher acting as a facilitator rather than the primary source of information. The emphasis is on the inquiry process as well as the final understanding.
