Højdemodeller, often referred to as Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) in English, are fundamental tools in geospatial analysis and Earth science. They represent the bare-earth topography of a region, meaning they depict the terrain without the influence of surface features like buildings or vegetation. These models are typically stored as raster grids, where each cell contains a numerical value representing the elevation at that specific location.

Traditional methods involved manual surveying and interpolation, but modern approaches heavily rely on remote sensing technologies.
