Hyperglykemiaan is the Finnish illative form of hyperglycemia, the medical condition defined by elevated blood glucose levels. Hyperglycemia results from insufficient insulin action, reduced insulin production, or excessive glucose intake relative to insulin availability.

Prevention focuses on maintaining sustained glycemic control, healthy weight, regular physical activity, and adherence to prescribed therapies. Long-standing hyperglykemiaan can lead to complications such as retinopathy, nephropathy, neuropathy, cardiovascular disease, and increased infection risk.
