Huvudarrangör is a term used in Swedish event management referring to the lead organizer responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering an event. The term designates the primary actor with overarching responsibility, often in partnership with medarrangörer.

Responsibilities include formulating objectives and budget, developing a project plan and timeline, selecting and coordinating sub-roles (program, venue, logistics, marketing, sponsors), securing permits and insurance, coordinating with authorities, and supervising safety and risk management.

The huvudarrangör typically represents the event to external stakeholders, signs contracts, and ensures compliance with laws and regulations. In many cases the host organization (municipality, association, company) appoints the huvudarrangör to oversee the event. Distinction from medarrangörer: the latter shares leadership but the huvudarrangör holds final responsibility.
